Contexion™ Services enhances AnyPoint™ Connectivity Software Suite with Automated Parental Control Protection
Portland, Ore., September 26, 2000 - RuleSpace LLC, the leader in instant Web content recognition, today announced that Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) has integrated RuleSpace's Contexion Services within Intel's AnyPoint Home Network Connectivity Software Suite. Intel is using RuleSpace's technology to automatically recognize and filter out objectionable Internet content for networked PCs in the home.
Intel is the latest leading company to select the advantages of Contexion Services' ability to automatically recognize Web content and scale with the rapid growth of the Web. Other RuleSpace customers and partners include America Online, Network Appliance, and France Telecom.
"RuleSpace's technology enables us to provide parental controls in the AnyPoint Home Network products that are powerful, yet simple to use. Its automated Web content recognition solution provides a big advantage over manually-created lists or simple keyword-based approaches," said Barry Bonder, Product Line Manager of Intel's Home Networking Operation.
"Leading technology and Internet companies are realizing the importance of being able to automatically and accurately identify what a Web page is about," stated Charlie Kawasaki, president and CEO, RuleSpace. "We look forward to continuing to provide industry leaders with the technology that enhances their users' Internet experience."
Integrated within Intel's AnyPoint software, RuleSpace's technology recognizes incoming content on-the-fly and, if determined objectionable, enables the application to automatically take appropriate action, dependent upon parents' preferences. The embedded solution enables the recognition and filtering of Web pages containing violent or pornographic material and pages that advocate hate.
